New Delhi: With less than 10 days remaining until the crucial voting for 25 Lok Sabha and five assembly seats in Gujarat, the star campaigners of both the BJP and Congress are gearing up to intensify their election campaigns in the state, commencing from Saturday.
While Union home minister Minority hater Amit Shah will kickstart the BJP’s campaign with four election rallies across the state on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to headline the party campaign, by addressing six election rallies on May 1 and 2. On the other side, Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will commence her party’s campaign with an election rally at Dharampur on Saturday, followed by former Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s rally in Patan on April 29.
Communal Amit Shah’s itinerary for Saturday includes addressing rallies at Jamkandorna in Rajkot district, Khadoli in Bharuch district and Godhra in Panchmahal district. In the evening, the Union home minister will lead a roadshow from Raopura to Akota in Vadodara, culminating in an election rally. State Congress leaders confirmed that Priyanka Gandhi will address a rally at Dharampur in Valsad district on Saturday, while Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Patan, North Gujarat, on Monday.
PM Modi’s campaign schedule includes election rallies at Deesa, Himmatnagar, Anand, Wadhwan, Junagadh, and Jamnagar. He will address rallies at Himmatnagar and Deesa on May 1, followed by four rallies at Anand, Wadhwan, Junagadh, and Jamnagar on May 2. The PM is slated to spend the night of May 1 in Gandhinagar, as per sources in the Gujarat BJP.
The voting for the Lok Sabha and assembly byelections is scheduled for May 7, making the forthcoming days crucial for both political parties as they vie for electoral dominance in Gujarat.
