London: Goa day event was held at Cranford Community College Grounds today on 4 August 2024. After a long-term gap, due to Covid this time an excellent and great Goa Day was held. Goa Association UK were the organisers of the event. Chairman of the Association Ravi Vaz was the main pilar behind the event who worked hard to make it a grand success The event started with the Holy Mass held there at 11 AM followed by the programs conducted by different groups. Initially the crowd was not so huge but as the time went by the ground started getting crowded and grew in number as each minute passed by.

 

The event was sponsored by Tilda Rice, who every year do sponsor the event as usual. This time the varieties of Rice displayed were marvellous and were on display in their stall. The whole ground was filled with stalls all of Goan Cuisine with varieties of Goan recipes, mouth-watering display of food, cooked and ready to eat. The display was so wonderful, that the crowds started gathering at the stalls to grab their favourites before they run out.

 

Shortly after the Holy Mass, programs began to be staged. There were various artists performing on the stage including a very little girl, who sang a song of Lorna BEBDO. She performed it excellently and was well on course with the original. She spared no pains in displaying her dancing to the same music on the stage. The rendering of the song was excellent.

 

On moving on the ground, were huge crowds turning up for the event. By the peak time the crowd was huge, all with their children, grandchildren, their relatives poured in huge numbers. The day was a fabulous one. Before concluding the day for some and opening for some, Ravi Naik the Chairman of Goa Association UK was interviewed by the Editor of Niz Goenkar website and a coverage of the occasion was also done by Niz Goenkar Editor, which will be uploaded soon to the YouTube Channel.
