Panjim: Indicating that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is not functioning as a remote control (of any government), RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday said that the Sangh does not have remote control of anyone as many believe. “The RSS prepares Swayamsevaks to serve the society, who independently provide their service to the society as they see fit,” he added, assuring that RSS does not want to create any kind of pressure in the country.

 

Addressing a public gathering during ‘Mahasanghik’, at the Campal Ground in the city, Bhagwat said that Indians are one and their DNA is one. “We all are sons and daughters of this land, although we have different faiths, food habits and so on,” he maintained, adding that in spite of all this unity in diversity, India is still a Hindu nation where there should be no place

for hate.

 

Lamenting that erroneous information is being spread about the RSS, the Sarsanghchalak said that many people have a perception that RSS is a paramilitary organisation. “However, this is not the real form of RSS,” he mentioned, adding that today, a large number of people have linked themselves with the RSS, few others are neutral, while some oppose it. “In spite of all these opinions about the RSS, it works towards uniting the country,” Bhagwat informed, pointing out that the immunity of the society has become weak, and therefore any virus can affect the society.

 

Speaking further, Bhagwat advised that progress and development of mankind should be undertaken by protecting the environment. “All of us need to be environment-friendly humans,” he noted. Maintaining that RSS is popular across the world, the Sarsanghchalak stated that the RSS aims to create a society, which will make India a ‘Vishwaguru’ or a World Leader. “This programme is not for displaying strength of the RSS, but to inform about the functioning of RSS,” he mentioned, inviting all to join the Sangh for creating a good environment.

 

Union Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shripad Naik and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant attended the public meeting in the RSS uniform. The RSS chief is in Goa since the last few days to preside over an all-India co-ordination meet of the Sangh, at Naguexi-Ponda.
