Conspiracy Against Cristiano Ronaldo Has Let Our Country Down – By Menino Fernandes
Watching the world cup was very interesting and with a keen interest I was more on our country Portugal progressing forward when suddenly, the whole dream shattered and we got thrown out by just one goal at the expense of keeping Cristiano Ronaldo out by the uncouth Fernando Santos. Some players like Felix Joao were in fact out of place, which created more of a mess. The main factor of this was Fernando Santos who has currently been dismissed from his job for ruining the Portuguese team.

From what I observed, I saw that under the instructions of Santos except Pepe, none of the players were passing the ball to Cristiano Ronaldo. They were ignoring him and even withdrawing the ball, when if given to Cristiano, he would have easily scored the goals and of course Morocco would have been beaten easily if Cristiano was there from the beginning of the game. This type of dirty idea was done by the brains of Santos who preferred Portugal losing rather than Cristiano Ronaldo getting Portugal to the Finals. Shame on Santos for bringing down our country.

Fernando Santos should have been thrown out long back, the moment it was seen clearly that he was keeping Cristiano out. Felix Joao who gave the interview is an useless player, good for nothing. Joao Felix is the one who should have been given a seat and not sent on the ground to play.

It has been seen clearly as to what the players were doing, how they were even withdrawing the ball rather than giving Cristiano Ronaldo at the instance of Fernande Santos. Joao Felix was an useless good for nothing player. If they were to give Cristiano the ball, there would have been at least three goals more and we would have been for the Finals and probably would have won the world cup. It was only Pepe who valued Cristiano and passed on the ball to Cristiano and the captain ribbon even before Cristiano could enter the ground.

Portugal would have won this time the world cup, if this disaster was not caused by Fernando Santos. He should be prosecuted by our country and sent to jail for keeping out our finest and best skilled Cristiano who would have definitely got our country to the finals of the world cup. Only haters and critics like talk all nonsense about Cristiano. There was an outright conspiracy and jealousy of Cristiano's capabilities and skills, even among our country's own players.

Famous words of John Steppling, words to go down in History: “Why keep slagging on CR? Great story with Ramos, but Ronaldo has been a superb player for a decade. Of course, people cheer and they should. Doesn’t make them idiots. Makes you an idiot.”

Yes Ignatius bab, I do agree with you that he was a bit unruly guy. But that was no reason to keep him out at this important time of the game.

MdG sorry to say that your very first sentence shows what you will say about CR7. It is up to you to hate somebody however good side he may have.

I agree with you Mel bab. Ronaldo is a great player but undisciplined.

With regard to Sachin he is selfish but as a player he won the world cup in 2011, so do Sunil and Kapil Dev in 1983.

Not so sure, never liked Ronaldo, found him too narcissistic and selfish
I’m not sure that orders were given not to pass to him but it would be highly unusual, specially for an European team to do so, that too under full glare of millions and get away with it
He was substituted in the 51st min and had a good 45 mins, what did he do? NOTHING
OKay, for one min, his own team were not passing him the ball. This is where greatness or genius like Pele or Maradona come into pic. Remember Maradona’s solo goal against England in Mexico 1986. Not the hand of God the second one!! That’s what’s geniuses are … legends.
The rest, like Ronaldo are genies rses, selfish guys, who like Sachin Tendulkar, only play for themselves and their bank balances and private clubs and give a sht to the country. That’s why both Sachin Tendulkar and Ronaldo never won a world cup for their country. Unlike MS Dhoni, who played for team and country.
Same shit with Sunil and Kapil Dev .
It was Ronaldo’s 5th world cup!! 1-2-3-4-5 what conspiracy in the last 4? Nothing, he’s now a
washed out, to be retired, selfish and arrogant diva
Why this world cup, even his team coach, Manchester united, disciplined him and made him
sit on bench as substitute… what was the conspiracy there??

Ronaldo will always be the greatest and will go down in history for his skills. Shame on all those who criticise him and are jealous of him.

What an idiotic coach is Fernando Santos, to keep the best and the highest paid footballer in the bench during the knockout stage. Felt very sad to see Ronaldo in tears when Portugal got knocked out. All my hopes of seeing Portugal in a WC final were shattered. Hope Argentina will be the winners, as France is playing a combined eleven with 90% of the players from other countries.

Agreed, you cannot leave a living legend on the bench as if he is some idiot. That was the worst insult of his life. Argentina expect Messi to perform just for 10 or even 20 minutes to show his brilliance. Portugal did not deserve a Ronaldo.

So to get this straight - Portugal and Manchester United have failed Ronaldo! He is not the first footballer to come to an end of a career. He's one of the best footballers we have seen, please let him ease out of the beautiful game with grace and gratitude.

I love Ronaldo, he is such an amazing player we sometimes he needs to humble himself and realize he is human and not a God. His ego always hurts him and that's his own fault

I would certainly agree with this article in every aspect. That old hag should have been kicked out the very first day when Ronaldo was given the seat. This man never knew how to handle the team and the game during play. He was the most unfit man there. Felix Joao should never have been taken in for the game and allowed to play. He is another stupid player who ruined the whole game. Felix Joao was the useless player who destroyed Portugal.

Yes Ignatius bab, I agree with you but the point is that, it was just not bad luck but the conspiracy against Cristiano who was sitting on the bench when he was needed right from the beginning. Fernando Santos has been fired from his post as well as from football academy of Portugal.

I can understand your sentiments Menino bab. I watched that game and can say that Portugal played better but it was their bad luck. With regard to the coach I have no information but the players must respect the coach regardless who he is. After all it is a game and only one team wins. I remember the 1978 world cup which was held in Argentina. Brazil was out without losing a single game in the entire tournament and finally they got 3rd place.

Yes Mike bab, I fully agree with you. It was indeed a sad moment when all this took place. This was a deliberate act by the idiot Fernando Santos and many others involved in bringing down Cristiano.

Yes Menino I agree - The match against Morocco was for Portugal to win, Portugal loosing was not a soccer fluke , it was poor management of dropping Cristiano , a very poor decision by Santos, but who knows the Portuguese team and the world cup is bigger than Santos , I will not be surprised if there is more to this silly decision that led to the loss of Portugal a team that had to play in the semi finals. There was controversy about Cristiano joining or probably joined some prominent Saudi club , something that I too am not impressed. But yes , just me saying - this world cup season was not that exciting.

Shh Shh Shh, shame on this man who was running the team. Why was he not allowing Ronaldo to play? Ronaldo was the main man behind the games and should not have been kept out. It was Ronaldo who made Portugal shine in Football. But shame that such a blatant act was committed against Cristiano Ronaldo.
