Offshore Casinos’ Licence Extended For Another Six Months

Panjim: The state cabinet on Wednesday granted another six months extension to the offshore casinos to operate in River Mandovi. As per fresh decision, the offshore casinos will operate in river Mandovi from October 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 or until a new site is identified for relocating them.
 
The cabinet also approved a proposal for re-introducing One-Time Settlement Scheme (OTS) of the electricity department for its consumers for recovery of pending dues of bill payment. The Chief Minister said that the OTS will remain in force for six months. He said that Rs 402 crore arrears amount of electricity bills are still pending.
 
Power Minister Ramakrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar said that the electricity department will give two months’ time to the consumers to apply under the scheme. The cabinet also approved the proposal to get Deccan Sugar Technology, Pune on board as a consultant for setting up of an Ethanol plant on Sanjivani sugar factory land.
 
The Chief Minister also said that the cabinet granted approval for transfer of land from water resources department for veterinary dispensary and for setting up of Kunbi village at Sanguem. The cabinet also cleared 3 more appointments on compassionate grounds to the family members of the government employees who lost lives while
on duty.
